Dinner For Hubby

I had a doctor apt today
So I took a full vacation day as not to
be rushed and crazy.
Cardiologist apt - not a good time
to show up stressed hah

I was blessed to receive good news.
I started on cholesterol drugs
and they have done wonders in
3 months.  Cholesterol is way down.

Still need to watch the BP numbers
and try to incorporate exercise but
I am getting there ; )

Since I was home I decided to make
a special dinner for my hubby.
I headed to shop rite early this AM.

Picked up his favorite things.
Salmon
Rice Pilaf (Near East brand)
Spinach
Grands Pillsbury dinner rolls.

 He enjoyed it.

It was funny I left the house only twice
today.  Once to go to shop rite
and once to go to doctor.
It was sunny all day except for the two times
above. It rained so hard both times I was out
I just cracked up as I couldn't believe it.

I got this photo from a friend on facebook.
Here is a road about 2 miles from my house.
It poured so hard we had flash floods.
Within 5 minutes sun was out and water was gone.

I can sure understand how quickly God was
able to wipe out the earth during Noah's time.
Last rainbow I saw was in Hawaii -
Gods promise to never flood the earth again : )

Like Old Times

Tonight I had a very special treat.
I attended the Annual Peach Festival at
the church I attended as a child.
With my Aunt Rose and Aunt Linda from
Florida and my good friends Michelle and
Wendy.

I was in the children's choir, Sunday school &
VBS.  This church gave me my
Christian foundation.

I also had my Kindergarten in this church.
At that time there was no room at the town
school to hold the Kindergarten so we had
school 1/2 day at the church.

At that time I had no idea I would one day
attend this church.

I attended until I was in my late teens then I
stopped attending church but always held on
to the Lord.  A few years later my co-worker
witnessed to me and I received the Lord as
my personal Savior and started attending
Calvary Baptist Church. The foundation I
received from this little church never left me.

I have such amazing memories as a child and
young teen going here.

I still remember the lyrics to the song we
would sing outside the church on the lawn
every morning before VBS started.

Our sweet Reverend  Mr. West would come out
and he would get us children all riled up. hah

Strawberry Shortcake, Huckleberry Pie
V * I * C * T *O * R * Y
Do we love the Lord?
Yes you bet.
Oceanport Bible School
YES YES YES

hah Not bad since I haven't
sung that song for 43 years

Most of the dear folks I remember
have gone on to be with the Lord
and they have no idea the impact
and importance their serving made
in young lives like mine.

Oh the peaches are so good !

The cake and ice cream are good also.

I was blessed to pickup this cookbook
from the church.

What a special night !

Busy Weekend

Last night we went to a play at our church.
It was really an Opera.
It was called Esther Sweet Esther

It was not at all what I expected but
I enjoyed it.

Today we did laundry and shopped.
I found a wonderful desk at a great
sale price.

It was $ 139.99 at Kohls.
On sales for $49.99 and I had
$10 kohls cash and a $10 coupon.
So I paid $ 29.99 YEAH

You can't see much of it because of all my
treasures hah

Tonight my hubby's Mom treated us to dinner
in CT.  I know we live in NJ but it is only about
a two hour ride.

So off we went at 2:30 pm

On the ride there we take the NJ Turnpike
Took this shot out my window going 65 hah
But you can see the Freedom Tower which
stands in place of the WTC from 911.

This one is the Empire State Building.

Next thing I new we were in CT

We met at Zody's 19th Hole

The golf course grounds are lovely

This is why my mother-in-law chose this
restaurant:

I never saw so many lobsters coming out
of that kitchen. hah

Then for dessert we went to my hubby's
cousins home. They have a lovely home in CT.
A view of the water and you can see Long Island
from their deck.  Sitting out there watch all the
sail boats go bye . . a girl could get use to that hah

Cousin Harry

His sweet wife Edna

They are both just lovely and fun.

Tomorrow we have church and
a birthday party in the afternoon.
I will need to go back to work to rest hah.

Weekend Away ~ Lewisburg PA

Hubby and I had a wonderful weekend
away visiting dear friends in Lewisburg PA.

We were up at the crack of dawn on
Saturday AM.  Two miles down the
road we saw 3 beautiful deer. I don't know
if it was two does and a buck (siblings) or
a buck dad and two doe babies. They
were so sweet.  Wish I had out my camera.

We headed for breakfast at our favorite
travel spot hah

Cracker Barrel

They were selling these new Cd's from
Clint Black - played it on the drive it
is so good. Especially the song below.
Melts your heart !

He wrote it based on this photo:

We arrived in Lewisburg PA

I love this little town.
It is the home of Bucknell University.
Many kids from NJ go to Bucknell.
The campus is really beautiful.

The ride there along the Susquehanna River
was lovely.

Can you see the pretty purple wild flowers?

Here we are in our group shot.
Maredith, Cindy, Me, Cindy's hubby Bob
and my hubby Gary

Here I am with Sara my dear friend
and for many years.

We had a lovely BBQ

Then we went a few towns over to the
West End Fair in Union County.

It was a blast!  Perfect small town fun!

Here I am by my John Deere
"nothing run's like a deere" hah

They had the 4-H animals

Sweet little goat

Large cows - gosh they are so huge

Precious bunnies

My hubby's favorite

This pigs cracked me up drinking from the
water spigot.

Fair Food

We had such a great BBQ that all we wanted
was a nice fresh squeezed lemonade.

I love these new scarfs. You know the kind
that seem to twirl. I've seen them at so many
crafts shows in NJ but they are so expensive
$ 40.00 I just can't pay that much for a scarf.

Well they had some at the fair and they
were at a good price $ 16.00
Here's the one I chose PINK of course.

Tractor Pull - all lined up waiting for their turn

And they are off !

Here's the Tractor pull track.

There was the most beautiful sunset last night.
These pictures don't do it justice.
It was so bright pink.

This morning we got up early and had a nice
breakfast at Perkin's then we were off to visit
some more before heading back to NJ.

We went to Country Cupboard
(no it wasn't snowing in August hah
 grabbed this off internet)

Here's our favorite MLB got himself a cupcake.
(translation Major League Ballplayer)
Nice big baseball cupcake !

Then sadly it was time to head home.
Times goes so quickly.

We forgot about the Parkway traffic on
Sunday's in New Jersey. All the folks
heading home after coming to our beaches.
We almost got on the parkway and saw the cars
backed up so we were fortunate to have a
side road to take. Of course neither of us
knew where we were hah

Welcome to summer at the Jersey Shore.

We fumbled  along and as we were finding our way,
suddenly we see a restaurant that we both really like.
So we decided hey when in Rome !
So we took advantage of our being lost and
stopped in for a nice dinner.

Oh the food is so good !

We are home, thankful for a blessed weekend
and ready for our show !
Tonight we learn the winner !
The Next Food Network Star !
