Change is hard . . .
This week they tore down my childhood library.
I drive past it every day on the way to work for
30 years. It was on the side of the borough hall.
My Aunt Helen worked at the borough hall.
So many wonderful memories at the library.
For several summers they would have a Summer Reading
Program and dear Sara would drive all us neighborhood kids
to the library to pickup our books.
I remember I read these two books and many others
~ thought I was so grown up
I still have my button they gave us
when we read all the required amount
of books each summer. 40 years later
and I still have my button - obviously
it meant a lot to me.
It just broke my heart to drive by and see this each day
until it is now gone.
Hurricane Sandy came through and the building was filled
with water so they had to tear it down.
Oh yes change is hard . . . but
