****** NYC Botanical Gardens ****

We went to the NYC Botanical Gardens today. They are doing a show called Edible Gardens. Today we got to see Michael Psilakis and Mario Batali.  It was so much fun.  The gardens are beautiful and we learned so much from the chefs. Here I am with Michael at the book signing. Last weekend we ate at this restaurant KEFI in NYC, delicious Greek food.

Here's Mario Batali waiting for his demo to start. He didn't disappoint. It was very windy and cold yet he wore his signature outfit, shorts and orange crocs  . . .
This is a photo of the botanical garden site.  Beautiful green house
You can't see it so well in this photo but a huge bumble bee was on this flower.
Here's my sweet hubby, Gary as we were leaving the Gardens.

---------------Food Network New York City Oct 2010-------------------

Hubby and I went to the Food Network Day in New York City. We had such a good time we got to see a lot of the cooking stars.  It was such fun.

Tyler Florence - he is very handsome

Alton Brown and my husband. He kept us laughing.

Giada De Laurentiis - she is really beautiful and sweet

Rachel my hubby's favorite ! Both from NY

We saw Trisha Yearwood bake a carrot cake.
She was really nice. She answered all our questions and really was a good sport.

Then we went to Michel Psilakis restaurant for dinner called Kefi  - they have great Greek Food. I really like him when he is on the Recipe Challenge show - he is a judge. The whole time we were eating I kept asking my husband if he thinks he is really cooking in the kitchen. He said, I doubt it. He is the owner and does the recipes but I'm sure he doesn't cook everynight.  We were almost done eating and I just got my nerve up to ask our waiter about him and all of a sudden I see him walking past me into the kitchen.  I couldn't believe it. It was such a GOD moment.  He just blessed my heart ! So exciting to get to see Michael in person.

What a fun blessed day !

***** Trip to the Hamptons with Auntie

Hubby and I took my Aunt Rose to the Hampton's on
Saturday. I have never been there and she really wanted
to visit some of the shops The Barefoot Contessa writes
about in her cookbook. This was a neat little candy and ice
cream shop. They had an old fashion counter. The homemade
ice cream was really good.

Here's hubby and I at a market, they had really nice
pumkins . . . so ready for fall !

This was a seafood restaurant on the water. Hubby and
Auntie had lopster rolls! They said they were really delicious

Here's a beautiful park in Sag Harbor

Theyhave the neatest windmills. One
in several of the towns.

Hubby and I went to Smithville NJ for Labor Day. It is a
neat little town that has shops and a pond it is very quaint.
It's only 1 hours ride from home too.

Here's the little train. It circles all around the town.

They have a sweet old Merry-G0-Round.

Tons of neat little shops, from old fashion candy, a bakery,
homemade soaps, ice cream, crafts etc . . .

It really is just beautiful there. Sweet little bridges to cross
ducks and paddle boats.
