TCM Classic Movie Tour & NYC Day 2013

A dear friend of ours from church
posted on Facebook about TCM Classic
Movies running FREE bus tours
of NYC and all the TCM Classic Film
locations.

Our tour guide was Amadeo Fusca.
A real nice young man studying
acting and stand up comedy.
He did a great job !

Hubby and I enjoying the tour

Dakota Building ~ Rosemary's Baby, Hannah & Her Sisters.
This is also the spot John Lennon was murdered.
I can't believe it was 33 years ago.

Central Park ~ Mounted Police Charge, Barefoot in the Park,
Marathon Man

This is Strawberry Fields

Zabar's ~ Manhattan, You've Got Mail
Remember the scene when Meg Ryan's character was
in the cash only line with no cash hah

Holly Golightly's apartment in Breakfast at Tiffany's

Hubby and I at the Queensboro Bridge ~ Manhattan,
My Man Godfrey

What was fun about the movie tour was they would show
you the clip from the movie on the bus then you'd arrive
at the location and you could easily visualize it.

After the tour hubby and I were on our own to be
tourists hah

We headed to the famous Rockefeller Center tree.
On the way passed Radio City.

I love these red balls they have then every year.

Here she is !   The tree just had the most perfect shape.

Oh hubby, would have been a great shot
had you opened those darn eyes again !

Then we headed over to Bryant Park
Ice Skater's

I think the Bryant Park tree is also so pretty
The decorations were lovely

Can you see the bright red balls and snow on the branches

Lord & Taylor's Windows

In a nod to the landmark building's centennial next year, Lord & Taylor's holiday windows evoke the old-style glitz and glamour of New York City, replete with men in top hats and coattails and women in feathers and furs. Each vignette depicts the giddy anticipation leading up to the holidays, including a woman laden with gift boxes on a bustling city street, properly buttoned-up children eagerly awaiting one-on-one time with Santa Claus and couples in their holiday best attending a luncheon and a show.

Macy's Windows ~ pretty and magical

This year's "Dream…and Believe" theme follows the journey of a young boy dreaming of, experiencing and believing in the magic of Christmas. Window watchers can follow his fantastic trip via six mesmerizing, interactive displays that feature such elements as a jewel-encrusted forest, a waterfall and hand-blown bubbles. The final window, "Believe," unveils a lavish living-room setup complete with crystals, stars and Santa, meant to inspire children (and maybe even some adults) to believe

Making a snow angel

You should have seen the faces of the children looking
at each window.  Their eyes were like saucers.

Children sleeping, snow is softly falling
Dreams are calling like bells in the distance
We were dreamers not so long ago
But one by one we all had to grow up
When it seems the magic's slipped away
We find it all again on Christmas day

Believe in what your heart is saying
Hear the melody that's playing
There's no time to waste
There's so much to celebrate
Believe in what you feel inside
And give your dreams the wings to fly
you'll have everything you need
If you just believe

Trains move quickly
To their journeys end
Destinations, are where we begin again.
Ships go sailing far across the sea
Trusting starlight to get where they need to be
When it seems that we have lost our way
We find ourselves again on Christmas day

Believe in what your heart is saying
Hear the melody that's playing
There's no time to waste
There's so much to celebrate
Believe in what you feel inside
And give your dreams the wings to fly
you have an inner beauty
If you just believe [x4]

if you just believe
Just believe
you'll have everything you need
if you just...
just believe
