Thanksgiving 2014

Hubby and I had a blessed day !  Spent it at Gar's
Mom's house with our normal crew.

Thankful for family and friends.

Made a delicious recipe of Brussels sprouts.

Was sad my Cowboys lost but there is always next game.

But most thankful for my relationship with Jesus.
It just grows sweeter every year.
The older I get the more I am thankful for Jesus.
He is my peace, my hope and my future.

Sunday School children wrote him.

He is just so loved by them all.

Retreat - Tuscarora PA 2014 GBF

Went on retreat this past weekend.
Tuscarora PA - it's beautiful.
Located on the Delaware River.
It was my former church before
I married.  My Aunt attends there
so I am always invited. Sort of an
honorary member hah

Here I am with my Aunt and good friend
Marianne !  Marianne tried to tell us how much
"luggage" or should I say tote bags she brings with her.
We had no idea how much she really meant !
HAH HAH  We nearly died laughing at her and her totes.
Next time she tells me something I will really believe her.

We arrived a little early and wanted a quick bite to eat
to hold us over until dinner.  It was a one horse town as
they say.  The bagel shop closed at 3 pm and no other
places to be found.  We went into a grocery type market
and they made deli sandwiches.  My goodness he must
have put a pound of meat on our rolls. It was so good.
Aunt Rose chose liver and onions ~ try staying in a
room with 1/2 a liver and onion sandwich in the trash. hah

Here are a few of the ladies.
Karen - she just retired after a long career in HR at
a bank.  She is also our bible study teacher.
She is a great gal who makes us really laugh.

This lady was the speaker she was lovely.
Noreen Hay - she has quite a testimony of
God's faithfulness.

This is my friend Debbie and Cheryl.
Deb is a home economics teacher.
She can really cook and sew.

Cheryl is a computer wiz - she does the
video at their church with the worship songs.

This is the whole group of ladies who went for a
walk - I was napping at the time hah

Let's see if I have all the names:  Dee, Sara, Sandy, Bev,
Cindy, Cheryl, Deb and Aunt Rose.

Here's my Aunt and friend Marianne again

Here I am - I wasn't bored even though
you'd never tell from this photo. I was
probably exhausted from laughter and food!

This is sweet Sara, she is a lovely sister in
the Lord.

Here we are having fun !
The lady in the center is Beverly.
She is a Jewish lady who is saved.
She teaches us Hebrew words and makes
the Old Testament come alive for us.

We had this lovely young gal lead our worship
again this year.
We love her - Dez !
I purchased her CD and it is really good.

We ate way too much !   Way too much !

The food it just delicious.  Buffet with fried
chicken, mac and cheese, salad bar, huge
breakfast, lunch was ham and cheese on
ciabatta bread, dinner london broil with
mushrooms.  It was all wonderful.

Here are some photos of the grounds
taken from the internet.

This is where we get all the delicious meals

Sample of the room we stayed in.

 This was our conference room.

They also have an awesome bookstore and snack bar.

Here are photos I took of nature.
The trees were lovely and so was the water gap.

Not sure if you can see but at end of the mountain on
the right side they call it the Indian head.  It looks like a face.

We studied "Walk Worthy Fully Pleasing The Lord"
Our speaker shared her testimony and she has had
a hard walk but God has been faithful.
She said, Imagine Jesus says to us,
"THIS" is part of your journey, I am taking
you somewhere.

She said our walk is one step at a time.
One foot in front of the other.
One step is JOY
One step is HALLELUJAH

It was a blessed retreat!
