Tired but still blessed . . . yawn

Had a busy day at work. Year end is crazy. So grateful for my job of 20 years. Yes hard to believe. I just celebrated my 20 year award.

I started consistently riding my exercise bike. It is helping me to lose those extra pounds. As much as I hate to admit it - exercise does work and make you feel better. Okay Lord, I get it. LOL

Looking forward to the New Year. I love fresh starts. I went through my desk at work and did a spring cleaning of sorts. Oh how nice it is.

This year my new years resolution is to "watch my tongue" Yes easier said than done sadly. I don't want anything unpleasing to the Lord to come out of my mouth. Probably could do a lot better if I gave up my drivers license. hah

I want to honor God in my words and deeds this new year. I desire to delight His heart in this way. I know it will make me a better wife, employee, daughter, friend, and certainly will improve my walk.

I will commit to pray each morning before my feet hit the floor, Lord please put a guard over my mouth this day. AMEN

White Christmas Broadway

My mother-in-law bought us tickets to see White Christmas on Broadway NYC. We went on Sunday. It was wonderful. Loved the play. So much music and dancing. My favorite was the costumes. Those dresses and white muffs. Loved it.

Christmas 2009

Had a wonderful day. Started the day with a wonderful breakfast made by hubby. He can make some killer french toast ! (I managed to cook the bacon- maybe there is hope for me after all hah) Then we opened our gifts. Hubby got me a new cherrywood desk chair. It is so nice. Then my biggest surprise I am typing on right now. A PINK laptop - DELL. I love my DELL ! He also got me a PINK wireless mouse of course. hah
I am so blessed. We had a lovely dinner at my Aunt's house. Two much food of course. hah My cousin is the cook and she does a great job.

Of course we know the best gift of all this day is JESUS.
God coming to earth. Emanual. God is with us.

P.S. hoping to be able to post more photo's soon. Having some frustrating problems with my new camara. My gosh the batteries don't last at all ? Now it won't load to my computer. I am going to buy a cardreader because they say it will save the battery. We'll see.
Oh for the days of my little throw away camara. hah

New Camara

I bought a new camara with a gift card from my mother-in-law. I had been using those "throw-away" camaras but I find it is getting harder and harder to get them developed and the cost keeps going up. My new camara is digital and bright red ! wow I love it. Only problem I have to read the directions and learn how to work it. I can learn my computer pretty well I can put anything together if I have directions, but for some reason camara's puzzle me. LOL I swear I've read the directions 100 times but it doesn't sink in. I want to focus and shoot and have a photo. Well we'll see how it goes . . . hopefully I'll be adding more photo's to my blog soon . . .

Brunch, Movie, Shopping, Dinner

We had a full day ! It was a blessing. Met my mother-in-law and sister-in-law in NYC to celebrate sister-in-law Linda's birthday. First stop was Lusky's a great place for brunch. Then we headed off to the IMAX theater to see Jim Carey in Christmas Carol. Okay I get bad motion sickness so I wasn't sure how I would do. I didn't realize that if you don't wear the 3-D glasses at IMAX you can't really see the movie it is blurry. So I had to leave them on the whole time. I did okay but I was a bit nauseous. LOL I had to close my eyes a few times or my "brunch" would have appeared. yikes too much information. I guess I learned I can't do 3-D movies. Enjoyed the movie inspite of my crazy motion sickness. Then hubby and I headed to Columbus Circle for some Kiosk shopping - I had a special gift to buy (if you read my blog today you know who you are :) Then it was dinner time so we visited our favorite Vietnamese restaurant Saigon Grille. We get the same exact thing every time. Afraid to branch out, but I do really love what I get. And I am proud of myself today. I actually ate 1/2 and will have some for dinner tomorrow. My hubby is very good and always has bring home - not me I usually eat it all LOL But today, I am learning . . .

Relaxing Sunday

Having a relaxing Sunday. I like those. Went to church. I love each week when we light the Advent candle as Christmas grows closer. We sang all Christmas carole's this week and it was great. Did some grocery shopping and picked up a gift for my hubby. But other then that it has been relax, computer, tv and fun. I did spend extra time outside with Solomon. Living in an apartment and not having a fenced in yard I think he sometimes gets cabin fever. Poor guy. So I took him for a longer walk and sat out on our front porch steps. This is one of his favorite things. He watches the cars go bye and just eats it up. Also it is Mom's attention 100%, I'm sure that makes it even more fun. Brought him in and played a little ball with him. Being 12 1/2 years old he runs after the ball about 4 times then it is OVER. hah Now he is dead asleep in his bed. Wonder if any good movies are on Lifetime tonight? I just love some of these corney cheesey Christmas Lifetime movies. My favorite is Three Days with Kristen Davis.

Date Night

Had a blessed afternoon and evening with my hubby. We went to see The Blind Side. My gosh after reading everyone's blog who had already seen it I just had to get with it. Everyone was right. It was a great movie. So inspiring, eye-opening, moving. My husband really enjoyed it also and he is not a sports fan. When we went into the movie at 3:30 it was pouring rain in NJ. Coming out of the movie 5:30 it was snowing . . . big huge beautiful snowflakes. Just so pretty. The ground was so wet from all the rain all day it was not sticking.

We headed off to dinner. Our favorite Mexican restaurant Janita's. Just love those Faitias and the black bean soup wow! After dinner we went out to our car it was once again raining. No more snow . . . :(

After seeing the movie, I just want to count my blessings even more . . .
thank you Lord <><

Christmas Tree & Village ho ho ho

I wanted to join in the fun and share our little tree and Christmas village. This tree was our first tree when we got married in 2007. I don't have a photo of our current tree and by the time I get my film developed it will be New Year hah

I like country decorations and old tin ornaments. The sign at the top reads: COUNTRY CHRISTMAS We laugh because I live in a very busy NJ right on a highway but I decorate like I live out in the country somewhere. Hey a girl can dream right !

I love the village. After Christmas I buy one new house and a few of the people each year. I especially love the little people making snow angels on the right side.

The reindeer behind the tree on the bottom right was my grandmothers. We always had this out under the tree every Christmas. It is very, very old. I love it.

Doggie in control ?

I got a real kick out of this photo. My dog is still trying to adjust to me having a husband. I think he thought he was my husband all these 8 years prior to my meeting my husband. hah

In this photo he just placed himself in my husbands spot as if to say "okay when do we eat and where is "he" going to sit?"

BBQ YUM

Yesterday we went to a BBQ place in New York City called Dinosaur Bar-B-Que. It was so good. We went with our friends from church and had a blast. Our friend Steve loves "meat". hah
He was truly in his glory at the BBQ joint. My hubby leans more towards seafood, but he will enjoy his share of BBQ from time to time. Looking forward to heading back to NYC to see the tree once it is up and visit Rockfeller Center to watch the ice skaters. I also love going to Bryant Park they have little shops set up for Christmas and they sell crafts and all kinds of different items. Last year I got my eye glasses there. LOL I only need readers so I was able to find the strength I needed and they were PINK. My favorite color ! Just couldn't pass them up.
Looking forward to what treasures I will find this year.

Speaking of Treasures - I love this verse "Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also"

Thanksgiving 2009

Had a wonderful day with family. We went to upstate NY to my husbands cousins. They have a beautiful home. They have a huge picture window in the dining room and I was hoping to see deer. Well, right after dinner 3 beautiful deer just slowly walk right through their yard right by the window. It was amazing - I was so thankful to see them. We had tons of great food and fun. They have a sweet 1 year old who was just precious. He smiled and acted shy. Really a sweet little boy. Looking forward to tomorrow and some breakfast, errands and shopping !

Pets

Kelly's Korner is doing show us your life - Pets
I love to brag about my doggie - Solomon.
He is my baby. He is 12 1/2 years old.
He is a westie. A very spoiled westie.
Just like Kelly's dog Dawson, Solomon follows me around room to room.
Sadly he is the boss. I failed doggie 101 that is for sure.
When my husband came into the picture Solomon had already been with me
for 7 years. Needless to say he was none to happy with this addition to my life.
He is S-L-O-W-L-E-Y starting to accept him. Especially when I am not home, than
Gary is okay. He will give him cookies and take him on a walk. But once Mom hits
home - bye bye Gary. We laugh because many times the expression on Solomon's
face when he looks over at Gary sitting with me on the sofa is pure disgust.
He gives him the meanest look - we just crack up. But we both love the little guy.
He has a yellow duck that he got as a first birthday present. It is his baby.
He carries it around the house crying, seeking the perfect place to bury it. He does
this routine about twice a day. You can see he is totally stressed out until he finds
just the perfect spot. The duck is in the photo above.

Birthdays, Anniversaries, Vacations & Blessings

WOW what a month it has been. Hubby and I had a wonderful trip to Texas. Loved it. Praying the Lord will relocate us one day. Returned from vacation and it was my 50th birthday. Hubby made a special trip after working all day to NYC to buy me my favorite food. This was just the beginning of a special birthday week. My 50th birthday present is a trip to Hawaii ! How much better can it get . . . well two days after my birthday is our anniversary #2 and he took me into NYC to Fresco's by Scotto and wonderful Italian restaurant. I received a beautiful pink pearl necklace. I love PINK and I love pearls. I have the best hubby in the world. The 48 year wait sure was worth it . . . Happy anniversary Hon . . . can't wait for many, many more . . .

October ! !

YEAH love this month. While I enjoy the lazy days of summer, it is always nice to get back to the routine of life. Back to school, back to schedules. I am an organizational nut so I thrive in the routine of life. I try to be more of a free spirit LOL but I can only stand it for so long hah

I even enjoy the darker nights. Something about coming home from work closing the shades and just snuggling in - great feeling.

Just purchased my favorite Yankee candle Macintosh. Heading this weekend to our local Plant store - have to get some colorful mums.

Even my sweet doggie Solomon seems to be in such a good mood.
He has so much energy with the cooler air. He has been running and jumping like a puppy again. Of course, being 12 he poops himself out rather quickly hah

Thank you Lord for the gift of the seasons . . . blessed FALL !

Crazy End of Month Days

Crazy day. So busy at work. You know the end of the month, end of the quarter rush. hah One more day and the new month begins and I can take a sigh of relief. October too! My favorite month. For one it is my birthday month and also my anniversary month. Plus we are going on vacation to Texas in October. Much to look forward too.

Oh my! My little doggie Solomon is very mad at me right now. He is barking and barking. He doesn't understand we can't have dinner until his chicken finishes cooking. hah How do you tell a dog to be patient?

Went to my chiropractor today. Oh what a blessing that is. Helps all those sore muscles from sitting at the desk all day. Does anyone else love the chiropractor?

Well, better run, my Solomon's chicken is almost done . . . Lord know's he doesn't want to wait a minute longer. . . :)

Cooler Days and Changing Trees

Fall is here ! Oh how I love this time of years. Pumpkins, mums, apples, hayrides. Cool nights to sleep. God is awesome for giving us the change of seasons. Just when you are tired of a season a new one comes along.

I haven't blogged in a really, really long time. Not really sure what I am doing. hah

I am heading to my second anniversary, can't believe these two years have just flown by. My husband is doing great and is a huge blessing. He surprised me with flowers yesterday. I just love when he does that.

My sweet doggie Solomon turned 12 this summer. He is getting a little feeble and it is to hard to see. He seems to be having a little stiffness in his hips. Now I baby him even more than before hah

I'm am going to try to stay more on top of my blog because I do really enjoy journaling.

Snow Day

NJ got hit with 10 inches of snow today. Called my job and they said they were open. I drove 1/2 hour to work and guess what? They closed. YIKES So I am excited I get an extra day home. Hubby had to go in. First day of new boss, he knew he had better come into work. :) We are both so thankful to have jobs that you can't let a little snow stop you. The snow is so pretty shining in the trees. It sure will make Spring that much more delightful.

I found a great "easy" recipe for carrot cake. I am going to "attempt" to bake one on Saturday. We are visiting some friends on Sunday and it is their favorite cake. Step by step, little by little, this new wife will conquer the kitchen !

Have a blessed day in the Lord . . .

Finally Friday

So glad it is Friday. Had a hard week. Work was very busy. Not complaining, I am so thankful to have a job. I know so many folks are struggling. We are expecting rain, snow, sleet this weekend. Sounds like a good one to snuggle in and enjoy some home time. I am looking forward to Spring but looks like Mr. Winter wants to hang on just a bit more. That's okay it will make Spring that much sweeter. My doggie Solomon is really enjoying his new bed. He is not longer able to sleep with me and my new hubby. He tends to snap and nip if you accidentally touch him in his sleep. I am use to it after 11 1/2 years with him but my hubby isn't. Don't want him to get nipped by Sollie. hah So, we won a great big new bed on ebay for him. He actually loves it. Which was a real relief. I wasn't sure if he would take to a bed at his age. Have a wonderful weekend !

The Beginning

This is my first blog posting. Not sure what I am going to write.
I had a wonderful day today. Visited my Mom for her birthday.
She gave my husband a gift card of his birthday to his favorite
Italian restaurant. Aren't I blessed as I get to go too!

I have to bake a cake tonight for my churches bake sale. I enjoy baking even though I am very new at baking and cooking. I have to say it does intimidate me. God has blessed me with a husband who loves to cook.
Isn't God amazing. Takes care of everything.

Better run time for dinner . . . hum what did the hubby cook ?
