Bride of Christ ~ 2014 More of Jesus ~

I've been thinking what would make a good new years
resolution this year.  Besides diet, exercise etc etc etc

I ran across this photo and it so reminded me that I
am the Bride of Christ.

New Years Resolution ~  ACT LIKE ONE  ; )

It's a tall order sometimes.
But He who is in me is faithful.
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine !

John 3:29
The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. The friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. Therefore this joy of mine is now complete.

Revelation 21:2
And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Revelation 21:9
Then came one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues and spoke to me, saying, “Come, I will show you the Bride, the wife of the Lamb.”

Revelation 19:7-9
Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready; it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure”— for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints. And the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me, “These are the true words of God.”

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas - 2014

Hubby and I are having a quiet
Christmas Day this year.

Normally we spend Christmas with
Gar's family but this year they are
away in Florida so we are spending it
with my Uncle Mike and Aunt Rose.
They happen to live next door to us
so we can walk right over. hah

We will celebrate with Gar's family
on Saturday.

We started our Christmas with
a beautiful service at church.

We sang this song and it was so beautiful . . .

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan,
Earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone;
Snow had fallen, snow on snow, snow on snow,
In the bleak midwinter, long ago.

Our God, Heaven cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain;
Heaven and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign.
In the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed
The Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

Enough for Him, whom cherubim, worship night and day,
Breast full of milk, and a manger full of hay;
Enough for Him, whom angels fall before,
The ox and ass and camel which adore.

Angels and archangels may have gathered there,
Cherubim and seraphim thronged the air;
But His mother only, in her maiden bliss,
Worshipped the beloved with a kiss.

What can I give Him, poor as I am?
If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb;
If I were a Wise Man, I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him: give my heart.

We woke up Christmas morning to a joint
effort breakfast.  HAH
Hubby always makes his famous
French Toast Christmas morning.
It has become a tradition.
This year he found a recipe from
Alton Brown - it was sooo good !

I wanted to join in so I made
a breakfast casserole.

Both dishes were so yummy !

After breakfast it was present opening time.
Hubby and I were a bit lazy this year and didn't
label any of our gifts to each other with tags.
We thought, there are just two of us we know how
we wrapped them. hah  forget it.
I ended up opening some of his and he some of mine.
Next year tag them hah

Hubby bought me this great camera so I can
really blog.  I just need to purchase a SIM card and
I will be good to go.

Hubby is funny - he is a good listener and every time I
"complain" he seems to listen and make a mental note and
low and behold I end up with a Christmas Gift.

Two years ago I complained about my makeup table chair
being wobbly.  Guess who received a new make up chair?

Last year I complained about my vacuum - you got it a new
vacuum.

This year I evidently complained about two things hah

Having to put on and off my glasses while I shop and
how sore my butt gets riding my exercise bicycle.

I received these nifty hooks that are magnets.
You hook your glasses through them and low and
behold they are with you.  I have four different
styles  Sunflower, Angel, Pink Bow and Cross.

To solve complaint number two:
Fur seat cover !  hah  My butt may thank you !

Gee next year should I "complain" that I need to drive
a new sporty BMW ? hah

I was given the task of bringing dessert to my Uncle
and Aunts.  My Uncle is a meat and potato man.
He hardly eats anything.   But one thing he does
enjoy is strawberry shortcake.

I found a recipe from Trisha Yearwood for
Old Fashioned Strawberry Shortcake.

From this:

To This:

We wanted Puerto Rican food for dinner my Aunt
makes it so good. Spanish Rice and Rellenos de Papa

We had a blessed Christmas and look forward to 2014

New Years Resolution ~ check

On January 1, 2013 I committed to follow
a Read Thru The Bible in One Year series.
I am so happy and a bit (surprised) to report
that I stayed the course and completed it.

It has been such a blessing.

In the New Year 2014 I am going to go back through
just the New Testament to dig in deeper.

I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.     Psalm 119:11

TCM Classic Movie Tour & NYC Day 2013

A dear friend of ours from church
posted on Facebook about TCM Classic
Movies running FREE bus tours
of NYC and all the TCM Classic Film
locations.

Our tour guide was Amadeo Fusca.
A real nice young man studying
acting and stand up comedy.
He did a great job !

Hubby and I enjoying the tour

Dakota Building ~ Rosemary's Baby, Hannah & Her Sisters.
This is also the spot John Lennon was murdered.
I can't believe it was 33 years ago.

Central Park ~ Mounted Police Charge, Barefoot in the Park,
Marathon Man

This is Strawberry Fields

Zabar's ~ Manhattan, You've Got Mail
Remember the scene when Meg Ryan's character was
in the cash only line with no cash hah

Holly Golightly's apartment in Breakfast at Tiffany's

Hubby and I at the Queensboro Bridge ~ Manhattan,
My Man Godfrey

What was fun about the movie tour was they would show
you the clip from the movie on the bus then you'd arrive
at the location and you could easily visualize it.

After the tour hubby and I were on our own to be
tourists hah

We headed to the famous Rockefeller Center tree.
On the way passed Radio City.

I love these red balls they have then every year.

Here she is !   The tree just had the most perfect shape.

Oh hubby, would have been a great shot
had you opened those darn eyes again !

Then we headed over to Bryant Park
Ice Skater's

I think the Bryant Park tree is also so pretty
The decorations were lovely

Can you see the bright red balls and snow on the branches

Lord & Taylor's Windows

In a nod to the landmark building's centennial next year, Lord & Taylor's holiday windows evoke the old-style glitz and glamour of New York City, replete with men in top hats and coattails and women in feathers and furs. Each vignette depicts the giddy anticipation leading up to the holidays, including a woman laden with gift boxes on a bustling city street, properly buttoned-up children eagerly awaiting one-on-one time with Santa Claus and couples in their holiday best attending a luncheon and a show.

Macy's Windows ~ pretty and magical

This year's "Dream…and Believe" theme follows the journey of a young boy dreaming of, experiencing and believing in the magic of Christmas. Window watchers can follow his fantastic trip via six mesmerizing, interactive displays that feature such elements as a jewel-encrusted forest, a waterfall and hand-blown bubbles. The final window, "Believe," unveils a lavish living-room setup complete with crystals, stars and Santa, meant to inspire children (and maybe even some adults) to believe

Making a snow angel

You should have seen the faces of the children looking
at each window.  Their eyes were like saucers.

Children sleeping, snow is softly falling
Dreams are calling like bells in the distance
We were dreamers not so long ago
But one by one we all had to grow up
When it seems the magic's slipped away
We find it all again on Christmas day

Believe in what your heart is saying
Hear the melody that's playing
There's no time to waste
There's so much to celebrate
Believe in what you feel inside
And give your dreams the wings to fly
you'll have everything you need
If you just believe

Trains move quickly
To their journeys end
Destinations, are where we begin again.
Ships go sailing far across the sea
Trusting starlight to get where they need to be
When it seems that we have lost our way
We find ourselves again on Christmas day

Believe in what your heart is saying
Hear the melody that's playing
There's no time to waste
There's so much to celebrate
Believe in what you feel inside
And give your dreams the wings to fly
you have an inner beauty
If you just believe [x4]

if you just believe
Just believe
you'll have everything you need
if you just...
just believe
