Palm Sunday

I have always loved Palm Sunday.
As a child I remember I loved getting to take
home my palm. It was so exciting to me.

My Pastor is crazy. He is so funny.
Every year on Palm Sunday he does the sermon.

"Here Comes That Donkey".

His wife told him he needs to change the title that
he can't have the same one all the time. HAH

So he was going to change it this year to:

 "There Goes That Donkey"    HAH

We all tortured him so much that he posted this on
facebook and cracked us all up.

This is the northbound part of a southbound Donkey HAH

Yup "There Goes That Donkey"   HAH

Mark 11:1-11
Now when they drew near to Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples and said to them, “Go into the village in front of you, and immediately as you enter it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it. If anyone says to you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord has need of it and will send it back here immediately.’” And they went away and found a colt tied at a door outside in the street, and they untied it. And some of those standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying the colt?”

John 12:12-19
The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!” And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written, “Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt!” His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him. ...

Finished

Tonight we finished our Beth Moore Esther study.
So sad, I didn't want it to end.
We had a great group of ladies and the study was
just so good.
The Lord really spoke to me each week and I
am so grateful.

We decided to have a pot luck on our last night.
Our little Purim celebration.

One of the ladies brought the Haman's ear cookies.

Beverly made Kugel.
First time I ate it.
So delicious.

Here are a few photo's of some of the gals.
Sadly I didn't get everyone because a few
ladies had to arrive late.

This is Cheryl - she is our favorite IT person.
We had several computer issues and fortunately
Cheryl came to our rescue more then once !

This is Beverly and Doris.
Beverly is Jewish and really added so much
to our study. She had some wonderful stories
and information that we would not have
known.  She experienced celebrations of
Purim and lived in Israel for a year.

Doris was our co-leader and was a real
trouper, she came to lead us when
she was really feeling poorly.
Doris is a wonderful Mom who has
a handicapped daughter, Heather.
She is an amazing example of
selfless love.

This is Pat, Michelle and Rose (my Aunt)
I've known these ladies for over 20 years.
We have shared bible studies together and
our lives.

And this is Joan, Debbie and Karen.
Joan is a lovely lady who attends my
Aunt's church. She is a faithful student
of God's word. She really digs in and
has a lot to share.

Debbie is a wonderful lady.
She is very wise and has a beautiful marriage.
She and her husband Brian are too cute.
We love them.  Their relationship is
so special.  A great example.
Debbie is a home-ex teacher and boy
can she cook. Love the pot lucks when
Debbie comes hah

Karen was our co-leader with Doris.
She is a single gal who is such fun.
She makes us laugh with her stories.
She is a great teacher/leader and has
such a heart for the Lord.

Some of the ladies I missed in my photos
was Lillian, Marianne, Nancy.

It has been a blessed ten weeks.

Back to Friday nights at home with my hubs.

Friday night is Pasta night HAH

And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?

And Esther won favor in the sight of all who saw her.

and if I perish, I perish.

October Baby

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

Psalm 139:12-14

Wonderful movie.
We went as a church to go see the movie this Sunday.
It as wonderful to see the theater full.

So important to support these Christian films
to let hollywood and the industry know that
family movies will sell.

If you have the opportunity go see this movie.

Fun weekend

Up early for laundry but then off to Brooklyn NY for breakfast.
Yes you heard it correctly,  My hubby thinks it's never too far
to eat a good meal.  They have great food and they are known
for their cheese cakes.

Then we headed to Sahadi's for some shopping.
It is a great little market type store also in
Brooklyn that has all kinds of Middle Eastern
foods.

I was so excited to find unsalted sunflower seeds.
I hear they help lower blood pressure and remove
stomach fat.  I can never find them unsalted but
they had them.

I am going to put them on my salad at night
in place of the fattening, salty croutons.

Hubby got his favorite pita bread and I picked up some
stuffed grape leaves. Prices are reasonable also.

Then I had a hair cut.
What is it about having your hair cut
that you feel so wonderful afterwards?

We headed to the mall and ran into a
great sale at Boscov's

Got an adorable pair of flats with bows.
I'm all about the bows ! hah

I also used my Christmas gift at
Barnes & Noble -

 I've been wanting
to read this book - I hear such great
things about it:

Had some left over money on my gift card
so treated hubby to a book he wanted:

Then we had a great buy one entree and
get one free for Outback so it was
an Outback sort of night.

Today we went to church, I was
the principal today.

After church we were invited
to my mother-in-laws church
for a Clarinet Concert.

Wow this young man could really play.

After the concert we had a $10.00 coupon
for Charlie Brown's.  The one by our
house closed but there is still one
by our church.  So we headed there
for dinner.

We had a busy and blessed weekend.

Early Signs

While hubby and I were out running Saturday errands
 I noticed several signs  . . .

What kind of signs?  Street signs -
                                  Billboard signs -
                                  Stop Signs -
                                  Traffic signs ?

Why NO but amazing signs of SPRING !

I noticed the trees are budding . . .

I saw daffodils poking their sweet head up through winters soil.

I saw a whole yard full of crocus . . .

I saw many little robin red breasts.
Such sweet legends about these little birds.

An old British folk tale seeks to explain the Robin's distinctive breast. Legend has it that when Jesus was dying on the cross, the Robin, then simply brown in colour, flew to his side and sang into his ear in order to comfort him in his pain. The blood from his wounds stained the Robin's breast, and thereafter all Robins got the mark of Christ's blood upon them.

Another legend reads that the robin was originally a plain, dull brown bird. Mary requested that it fan the dying embers of the fire in the stable to warm the infant Jesus. The robin got too close to the flames and singed its breast feathers but carried on fanning the embers with its wings until the fire burned strongly again, and as a mark of its diligence, all robins have since had red breasts.

I can't believe how quickly this winter has gone. Maybe it is because it was really mild.
Hardly any snow or even cold.  Compared to last year which was quite a bear. hah

Excited that daylight savings is just around the corner - March 11th.

Spring begins Tuesday March 20th !

Welcome back - lady bugs

Welcome back - Butterflies

Welcome back - Bumblebees'
