Happy Birthday to my Husband !

Today is my sweet husbands birthday.
And thanks to these two Godly men:

we were blessed to be off work and spend the day together !

We decided we wanted to go for a drive.
Hubby loves upstate New York  so we headed out early
to go to one of our favorite diners in upstate.
The Everyready diner.  Guy Fieri visited it on Triple D.

They have great food.
Hubby who never needs to diet because he
is one of those folks who eating right comes naturally.
Decided on the greek omelette

I am trying to avoid salt (gotta get this BP lower ;)

so I chose eggs, oatmeal and fruit.

Oh so hard to enjoy an egg with no salt.
Loaded it with pepper hah

Then hubby took me to my favorite store.
We don't have one in NJ yet so it is always a
huge treat for me to visit upstate NY and shop.

Hobby Lobby !

love that they play Christian music while I shop,
love that is supports ministries that are spreading the Gospel,
love that they are not open on Sundays,
love that they sell so many Christian items.

After we walked and walked and walked some more -

I was giddy, joyful and content hah

I got some really good deals.

All items we purchased were 80 % off.

I purchased this whimsey cross -
the colors match my home office perfectly.

Love this Fruit of the Spirit sign.

Goes perfectly in my kitchen which is red.

I am really into things with "initials"
Grabbed these knobs for .80 cents each.
If you've ever shopped for knobs you know they can be really expensive.
They fit perfectly on my bathroom cabinent.

Purchased this neat little picture for my bathroom.
I love the old style knob.

Bought this for hubby. He loves these chef's.
He has quite a few of these chef items in our kitchen.
When I got married I had to mix chef's with
my beloved gingerbread men.  HAH
His & Her kitchen

After we left Hobby Lobby we decided to drive home and head to
Freehold NJ for dinner.

Freehold is a nice town.
They have a great Main Street with lots of restaurants.

We have been wanting to try Texas Mexican Restaurant.

It was really good.

Hubby had his seafood of course

And me again having to watch salt  - decided my best
bet would be fajitas.  Lots of veggies, chicken and shrimp.
Rice and beans.

I did have about 3 of these - fortunately they did not have salt.

We had a wonderful day and Hubby enjoyed his birthday !

When he came home he opened his present.

He loves these folks !

So I got him the complete series !

Thank you Gar for sharing your special day with me.
For taking me to my favorite store on YOUR birthday.
Thanks for being so patient while a cruise every
single isle, some more then once.

Looking so forward to another year with you.

Whitney Houston Home Going

God was lifted high at Whitney Houston's televised funeral
 in Newark, NJ today.

I have to give it to Cissy Houston she did it right.

Praise God

Praying that many, many folks who tuned in and heard the
 true gospel will seek Jesus.

This is how I want to remember her.

A amazingly gifted and beautiful women.

I truly believe Whitney was dealing with enormous pain,
insecurity and struggles.

A great lesson for us all, not to judge,
we haven't walked in their shoes.
Outside appearances do not reflect inner truth.

We've seen it over and over
fame, fortune, being put up on a pedestal -
does not lead to joy, peace, happiness.

I think the words in her song are so telling.

As I lay me down
Heaven hear me now
I’m lost without a cause
After giving it my all

Winter storms have come
And darkened my sun
After all that I’ve been through
Who on earth can I turn to?

Chorus:
I look to you,
I look to you
After all my strength is gone
In you I can be strong
I look to you,
I look to you
And when melodies are gone In you I hear a song
I look to you

'bout to lose my breath
There's no more fighting left
Sinking to rise no more
Searching for that open door

And every road that I've taken
Led to my regret
And I don't know if I'm go'n make it
Nothing to do but lift my head

Chorus:

My levees are broken
My walls are coming down on me
My rain is falling
Defeat is calling
I need you to set me free
Take me far away from the battle
I need you
Shine on me!

Chorus:

So glad you looked to Jesus Whitney !

I love what Kevin Costner said  . . .

Off you go Whitney, off you go.
Escorted by an army of angels to your heavenly father,’

‘When you sing before him. Don’t you worry.
You will be good enough.’

Valentines 2012

My Valentine took me to one of my favorite Greek Restaurants in NYC called KEFI's.
Michael Psalkis is the owner.

Here's my hubby outside when we first arrived.

And me

I love the decor - makes me feel like I've taken a trip to Greece.

They served the most delicious bread and the oil you dip it in.

Here's my Valentine - what should I order ?

Decision is made !  Macaronia Spestofai -
translated: Tubular Pasta, Greek Sausage, Peppers, Onions,
Tomato, Feta - It was delicious hubby let me sample his ; )

My turn - Greek Salad with Shrimp.   A ton of Shrimp too!

On the way home my valentine decided we needed a nice sweet treat -
it is a special day. So we headed to The Magnolia Bakery in NYC.

I stayed in the car since we were illegally parked HAH
Hey, try to find a parking spot in NYC on a Sunday afternoon.
I let him choose my treat for me. I think he did very well.

Red Velvet for him and Chocolate for me.

And to all my "single" lady readers never forget

Whitney Houston

Heart broken.  Such a beautiful women. Amazing voice.
Yet at the same time a sad, sad, lost soul.

I know she loved the Lord, yet she got off track and so deeply lost in
things of the world.

We all need to be so careful. It can happen to any of us.

Jeremiah 50:6 (NLT)
“My people have been lost sheep.
Their shepherds have led them astray
... and turned them loose in the mountains.
They have lost their way and can’t remember how to
get back to the sheepfold.

"You Give Good Love"
I found out what I've been missing
Always on the run
I've been looking for someone

[Chorus:]
Now you're here like you've been before
And you know just what I need
It took some time for me to see
That you give good love to me
So good, take this heart mine into your hands
You give good love to me
Never too much
You give good love

Never stopping, I was always searching
For that perfect love
The kind that girls like me dream of

[chorus]

Now I, I can't stop looking around
It's not, what this loves all about
Our love is here to stay, stay

[chorus]

Trusting your singing in Heaven's choir now Whitney  . . .

Raspberry Linzor Hearts

We are having a bake sale at church tomorrow.
A fundraiser to help with church bills.
Yes the economy is hurting our church body as well.
We are also giving 1/2 the proceeds to sponsor our
youth so they can go see Castings Crowns in concert.

We have so many talented ladies who make
 the most amazing baked goods.
I am always a bit nervous with my attempts
since I am a new cook/baker.

While these are photos off the Internet we have
had very similar items in past sales.

I wanted to attempt something a bit challenging and for valentines.
I found a recipe for Raspberry Linzor Hearts. But I wasn't sure I could
handle it.  I read it over a few times over a few weeks trying to decide.
Today was the day I was to purchase my ingredients after doing our
laundry. So I am at the Laundromat and I remember I didn't write
down my ingredients and today is the day I need to bake.
I decide forget it, I won't make anything difficult, I'll make my
usual brownies etc  . . .  So I'm reading a magazine my husband
gave me at the Laundromat and would you believe there is another
recipe for Raspberry Linzor Hearts !  Was God trying to tell me
something or what? hah  So there you go, I made up my list
at the Laundromat and headed home.

Here they are !    Not too bad for a beginner . . .

We'll, see if they sell ; )

Stress Test & Faithfulness of God

I had this kind of week

Not the kind you want to have when you have to go to your

Cardiologist that is !

Here is he - he is so nice

It was my annual check up but my blood pressure was up

So Dr Sayan decided it was time for a stress test.

Okay being a women with anixety and PSVT -
the thought of this certainly did not do
much to "lower" my blood pressure. hah

But God is sooooo faithful.

My sweet hubby was so kind to leave work early and drive me.
(Normally I go alone and it never bothers me, but this one I needed his support)

I had my prayer warrior's all lifting me before His throne

And thanks be to God - I survived.
I told the lady how nervous and fearful I felt.
She said she could tell my pulse was hugh and
they hadn't even turned on the treadmill hah
What I had was called an exercise stress test.
To see how my heart and blood pressure respond to exercise.
Well she felt I did very well.

Sounds like I am free to do this:

I go in two week back to Dr Sayan for his final results
but I feel good that the news will be good.
