Organize & Simplify

Our life is frittered away by detail… Simplify, simplify.

Henry Thoreau

The sculptor produces the beautiful statue by chipping away such parts of the marble block as are not needed – it is a process of elimination.

Elbert Hubbard

The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak

Hans Hofmann

Today Hubby and I spent some time organizing and simplifing . . . Amazing how much you can collect over time . . .

Hubby likes to save pages from magazine and I am a nick nack nut !  Hard for both of us to let go of our treasures . . .

We are hoping to relocate as the Lord moves us so we have been diligently going through drawers, cabinents, desks and you name in . . .

AAAAH . . .  feels good to accomplish . . .

Peace can be found in Simplicity . . .

A Wife of Noble Character

10 [b]Who can find a virtuous and capable wife?

She is more precious than rubies.

11 Her husband can trust her,

and she will greatly enrich his life.

12 She brings him good, not harm,

all the days of her life.

13 She finds wool and flax

and busily spins it.

14 She is like a merchant’s ship,

bringing her food from afar.

15 She gets up before dawn to prepare breakfast for her household

and plan the day’s work for her servant girls.

16 She goes to inspect a field and buys it;

with her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17 She is energetic and strong,

a hard worker.

18 She makes sure her dealings are profitable;

her lamp burns late into the night.

19 Her hands are busy spinning thread,

her fingers twisting fiber.

20 She extends a helping hand to the poor

and opens her arms to the needy.

21 She has no fear of winter for her household,

for everyone has warm[c] clothes.

22 She makes her own bedspreads.

She dresses in fine linen and purple gowns.

23 Her husband is well known at the city gates,

where he sits with the other civic leaders.

24 She makes belted linen garments

and sashes to sell to the merchants.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity,

and she laughs without fear of the future.

26 When she speaks, her words are wise,

and she gives instructions with kindness.

27 She carefully watches everything in her household

and suffers nothing from laziness.

28 Her children stand and bless her.

Her husband praises her:

29 “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world,

but you surpass them all!”

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last;

but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.

31 Reward her for all she has done.

Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.

Joe's Crab Shack . . . poor hubby !

My husband loves seafood. All kinds of seafood. I really don't. Or at least I thought I didn't. Little by little through hubby I have been learning. I always liked your basics tuna fish, salmon, shrimp, flounder.  But don't give me a crab, lobster or clam of any kind.  Then it started with Manhattan clam chowder, hey I like this.  Tonight at Joe's crab shack I wanted one of those boiled pots with all the goodies inside.  They look so good. I found one with corn on the cob, sausage, shrimp, potatoes and king crab legs. So I told hubby, okay I like everything except the king crab legs,  you can have mine along with yours.  He was delighted.  I get my meal and I say, let me try these things you seem to love so much.  Well, you guessed it. They were good !  Next thing I knew I was no longer sharing . . . like I said poor hubby !        (bring on the lobster we'll see how that goes . . . )

Super Saturday

Busy Saturday  . . .  always like to start the day off with a good breakfast.  Breakfast is one of my favorite meals, especially on Saturday am.  It's just a time for hubby and I to slow down, relax together and EXHALE.  Hubby loves Perkins new potatoes.  I like that you get a full craft of coffee.

But you have to get your work done too! hah  Off to the laundromat. We go early and we meet the same folks there every week.  A dear dear man named Lionel is just so sweet. We look forward to seeing him each time we go.  A good time to catch up on my Danielle Steel reading also hah

Oh my goodness, I am a freak about having a clean car. Not so much on the outside but for sure on the inside. Since we have one car now, hubby does almost all the driving and he doesn't have the same interest in keeping it tidy.  So today was the day for me to clean it up.  It is dusted, vacuumed and looks good ! AAH
Now for some fun!  Today is Super Saturday on QVC.  Top designers come to the Hampton's in NY. Everything is sold for 1/2 off and the full price of the sale goes to Ovarian Cancer Research. A great cause.
Things sell out so quickly on the air. It is on for 2 hours. You have to jump on your computer to catch an item often times.  I told hubby I'd love to go next year to the event. It looks like such a blast. All the colorful umbrellas and the deals. Kim & Kelly have been doing commercials on QVC to advertise the advent.
I was teasing hubby because his Mom's maiden name is Kardashian.  I kept saying why didn't cousin Kim invite us?  hah

The QVC TV portion was hosted by Lisa Robertson  . . . she's a sweet host.

I was able to quickly grab the below Issac Mizrahi cross shoulder bag.  1/2 off !   yippee
It is a beautiful soft pumpkin color leather.  It also comes with a beautiful scarf. You can't beat the price and so happy to help the cause.  Pumpkin is great for FALL . . . my favorite time of year ! ! !

Okay hubby has to have some fun today too, we are heading to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner.
Hubby has to have his seafood.  We didn't know we had one only 1/2 hour drive away.
Oh my, guess I will be a regular at Joe's.

It sure has been a Super Saturday . . .now when do I rest ?

July Heat Wave

What should you do in July during a heat wave?  Today 95, feels like 110, hot, sticky, humid, just plain yucky !   Enjoy yourself inside of course . . .

First breakfast at JB's Diner in Freehold, NJ.  A great 50's style diner.  Wonderful food, inexpensive and fun !  Hubby's favorite NJ diner.

Then a little shopping at Wal*mart.  They are having amazing sales on school supplies. Not that hubby or I are in school but I do love myself some school supplies. hah  .20 cents for notebooks.  Hubby got himself 5 red ones. His favorite color. He likes to write lists.  He can go to town with these.  I love all things PINK.
So I got myself some PINK notebooks, pink calendars, pens and a PINK flowered ruler.

Next off to the Christmas Tree Shop.  Oh the joy!  What inexpensive treasures you can find here.
They always have fun stuff monogramed. I love monogramed items.  Found a huge PINK "M" to hang
in my office.

Off to Kohl's -  $10.00 off coupon from a generous co-worker, plus 15% off entire day . . . had a blast!
Found a nice pair of shoes for work and hubby a pair of shorts . . .

All this shopping can make a girl thirsty.  So off to McDonalds for a cold one !  Fought the urge for fries and mcnuggets - Dr not real happy with this girls cholesteral . . . working on that . . . ; )

Finish of July Heat Wave Saturday with a nice relaxing dinner at OutBack ! . . . Two blocks from home . . .

July Heat Wave you don't bother me  . . .

Quiet Sunday

We are having VBS at our church this month. We do it every Sunday for a month.  It is called Shake it Up Cafe.  Each child gets an apron and chef's hat each week.  It is so cute to see the little ones.
My hubby teaches 1st & 2nd grade and he too looks adorable in his apron and chef's hat.
Theme is Where Kids Carry Out God's Recipe. 2 Cor 5:17a If anyone is in Christ he is a new creation.
It really is an adorable theme.

After church we drove over to Manhattan for take out of our favorite Vietnamese restaurant - Saigon Grill.
Our church is an hour from home but only 20 minutes from Manhattan - so we can zip over the George Washington Bridge and have a blast in NYC.

Winnie the Pooh

Hubby took me to see Winne the Pooh at the movies today.  Cheering me up as I am still so sad without my doggie. My best pal. My little shadow.  The movie was very cute.  Very clever how they incorporated the book into the scenes.  Pooh is just adorable.

Then we went to dinner at Ray's Seafood restaurant in Little Silver.  I enjoyed it. Hubby thought it was expensive.

Had a nice relaxing day.   Trying to focus on the blessings as I am missing my Sollie.  So thankful we had him for almost 14 years.  We love you Sollie - be a good boy up in Heaven . . .

Hubby Kid at Heart

A cheerful heart is good medicine Proverbs 17:22

I love the heart of my husband.  His favorite shows are usually cartoons or shows from the good old days. You can find him watching Andy Griffin, Bewitched, Green Acres, and his favorite the Flintstones.
He introduced me to Shrek, Cars and many other movies . . .

I am thankful for a man with a good heart of integrity.

Solomon David Wagner Azarian best boy ever!

08/05/1997 - 07/03/2011

Sent my boy into the arms of Jesus today . . . very hard but the Lord gave me great peace. I prayed that when the time came I would know that he was very ill and that sending him to Jesus was better than keeping him  here . . . I knew without any doubt it was time.

Heaven is that much sweeter to me . . .soon & very soon . . . wait for me by Jesus Sollie . . .

Hills & Valleys . . .

It has been a hard week. My sweet doggie Solomon was not acting right. He was drinking a ton of water and pee pee like crazy. He was panting non-stop. We had it freezing in the apt and he was hot. He was restless and just not himself. He is almost 14 years old so I know he will not feel great all the time. A year ago the vet suspected he had cushing disease. These symptoms fit that disease.  I took him to the vet fully expecting to hear cushing disease    - -  well I was shocked to hear  DIABETES !  Oh goodness. . .

I have to give him insulin shots twice a day. 6 am & 6 pm . . . I thought Lord, how can I do this. I cannot imaging sticking him with a needle once let alone twice everyday  . . .

But thankfully the Lord's grace has helped me and I am doing it ! My boy seems so much better too!
So thankful . . . I don't know how long the Lord will allow me to be Sollie's mommy but I am enjoying each day and taking it one at a time . . .

This picture has given me peace . . .
