Christmas Eve - 2012

Ready for Christmas!  All the preparation is done.  Did I take time to prepare my heart?

First Christmas without my Solomon doggie. So thankful for last year when he had himself a blast with the wrapping paper. So funny he never touched anything at Christmas and we got such a hoot out of him doing it last year at 13 years old?  Little did I realize it would be his last Christmas with us.

I trust Sollie is in Heaven now getting ready to have some birthday cake.

Heading to meet our friends Steve, Simone & Chris at the Coach House diner in Paramus.
They have really wonderful food.   After that Christmas Eve service at our church Maranatha.

Tomorrow morning looking forward to special breakfast made by my hubby, presents & family.

He makes his famous french toast from Challah bread each year.  So good!

Then presents !   . . . so much to be thankful for . . .

Then off to my cousin in-laws for Christmas dinner  . . .

So much to look forward to on this wonderful Christmas eve . . .

Christmas Songs

Come to the Manger
Written by Peter McCann and Orrin Hatch

It's an old invitation,
Engraved in the heart of one,
To remember when we're drifting apart,
To all races and nations,
To shepherds and kings.

A Savior is born, the age had begun,
when the meek and the mighty are one.
When we all to the manger come.

Come to the manger,
come in our darkest of hours
Wherever we are, the shadows are parted by the light from His star
From all men and women there rises a song
The Savior is born, the age has begun
When the meek and the mighty are one
When we all to the manger come.

Come to the manger
You will find peace in His light
A child so mighty in a stable so small
In His Heavenly Kingdom
There's a place for all
And all that he asks for, is your love in return

A Savior is born, the age has begun
When the meek and the mighty are one,
When we all to the manger come,
When we all to the manger come.

Silver Bells,Silver Bells, it's Christmas Time in NYC . . .

Hubby and I had a very romantic day being a tourist in NYC. Since he was born in the Bronx I have my own tour guide.

Here are a few photo's from our afternoon . . .

Rockefeller Christmas tree - my goodness it was so busy, just packed with people. This was as close as we could get this year.  So happy to see folks out and enjoying Christmas.
It really is a beautiful tree - just a perfect shape,

Here's another shot of the tree from across the street.

I loved the window displays at Lord & Tayor

Isn't this snow angel just the cutest?

This is the Bryant Park Christmas Tree.
It is really beautiful also.

They have a merry-go-round - the children were really enjoy it.

This is Bryant Park's ice rink.  So festive and pretty.
I love to watch the skaters.

This year they have a really neat restaurant upstairs.
It looked so good.
People were eating and had a great view of the skaters.
You could see all the candles on the tables glowing.
Just beautiful.

And we can't forget all the little shops in Bryant Park.
So fun to walk around looking at all the artistic ideas and things.

I treated myself to this beautiful snowflake necklace.
It will be a sweet reminder of this blessed day.

I didn't take these last two photos but I thought they showed a great view of
Bryant Park NYC at Christmas

Muppet Mania

Hubby and I started out our day having a wonderful breakfast at a local place called Amy's Omelette's House. Let me tell you they have 220 different omelette's on their menu.

To name a few:

# 82 Southern Jersey  - Pork roll, tomato, onion and american cheese

# 86 Baked Potato - bacon, home fries, sour creme

#130 Irish - corned beef, potato, pepper, onions country style

Here are some others . . .

Polish Cowboy, Belly Buster, Mexican Diablo, and my hubby's favorite:

Sweetie Pie- Strawberry jam, potatoes & cream cheese

Then we did a bit of shopping and headed off to see The Muppet's !

It really is a fun movie.  Silly, funny, brings back memories. Enjoyed the dancing and singing.

I especially enjoyed the relationship between the two brothers below - so sweet.

These guys are just too cute !

My favorites are the two old men!  They just crack me up. Then it dawned on me, I like grouchy old men. hah  Guess that's why I loved Regis and Andy Rooney - just something about them all hah

And last but certainly not least - Miss Piggy   A girl after my own heart stylin' in her PINK

America's Keswick Christmas Dinner Concert

Went to a Christmas dinner and concert last night at America's Keswick with the girls. It's an annual thing we've been blessed to do.  We had a delicious meal, wonderful fellowship and singing Christmas Carols.  America's Keswick is a wonderful place. I've gone on retreat there many, many times. God is in this place.  Here are a few photos

Damaris Carbaugh from the Brooklyn Tabernacle choir was our guest singer.
She is amazing. Her joy and exuberance and love of the Lord is so evident.

This is my favorite song she sings.  If you've never heard it or her - try YouTube.
It is so worth it.

Hes' Been Faithful To Me.

Through Every Pain Every Tear
There's A God Who's Been Faithful To Me

When My Strength Was All Gone
When My Heart Had No Song
Still In Love He's Proved Faithful To Me

Every Word He's Promised Is True
What I Thought Was Impossible
I've Seen My God Do

He's Been Faithful
Faithful To Me
Looking Back He's Love And Mercy I See
Though In My Heart I Have Questioned
And Failed To Believe
He's Been Faithful, Faithful To Me

When My Heart Looked Away
The Many Times I Could Not Pray
Still My God Was Faithful To Me

The Days Are Spent So Selfishly
Reaching Out For What Pleased Me
Even Then God Was Faithful To Me

Every Time I Come Back To Him
He Is Waiting For Open Arms
And I See Once Again

He's Been Faithful
Faithful To Me
Looking Back He's Love And Mercy I See
Though In My Heart I Have Questioned
Even Failed To Believe
Yet He's Been Faithful, Faithful To Me
