Count Down To Christmas

Headed off to my Aunt's church
to the ladies Christmas lunch.

My goodness the food was so good.
Those ladies can really cook.
Everyone enjoyed my holly leaf red velvet cupcakes.
I'm slowly getting the hang of this baking thing.

We played a really fun game trying to guess
the Christmas song from a cartoon
drawing.

Here are a few can you guess what songs?

1) jingle bells
2) walking in a winter wonderland
3) santa claus is coming to town
4) joy to the world

Then we played a game where you work around
the room and choose a gift and the next person
can choose a new unwrapped gift or they can
steal away an already opened gift from from another lady.

I was the last to go so I was blessed to
have a view of all the open gifts.
So I stole this gift away LOL

Isn't it so pretty?

When I came home my hubby was busily
wrapping gifts for "yours truly".
They are starting to pile up hah

Then we went to Chili's for dinner.
We had a coupon for free chips & salsa
and my hubby has been
craving them for some time now.

I was still pretty stuffed from lunch,
so I just ordered the appetizers.
They were so good.

How sweet is this ?

Miss my boy at Christmas . . .

Emanual God With Us

My heart breaks for the children and families of those lost in
this horrible school shooting today. My Pastor posted this photo
and it brings me comfort - Jesus with the children  . . .
So thankful for that hope . . .

I am amazed that people are still "shocked" and "surprised"
when these things occur.

We are making every effort to remove God from society.

We are legalizing drugs, changing what God has ordained
as marriage, living like Sodom and Gomorrah . . .yet we wonder?

We say it is okay and legal to kill a child in the womb and wonder
why these shooters don't value life.

If these precious children were still in their Mom's womb and the
"choice" was made to end their life it would be okay, legal and applauded
in some circles as a women's victory and rights.

Praying for Jesus return ... Our hope . . .

Maranatha Lord Jesus, come quickly

Emanual - God with us !

I made my cupcakes for the ladies lunch tomorrow.
They turned out cute. Not sure how they taste yet.
They are red velvet with cream cheese icing.

Close up

Ready to go !

Vacation Week - low key and wonderful!

Tomorrow is my last vacation day.

I have had a nice relaxing week.

I completed my errands.

I was able to do some simple crafts.

Monday

Love these - made one for hubby and my two co-workers

Tuesday - saw this on Pinterest

Didn't know where I was going to get a twig of pine tree.
God gave me one at Stop & Shop that had fallen on the ground
off of the wreaths they were selling.  Would you believe
I went back today and there were none on the ground.
They had cleaned them up.  God is good - grabbed mine
just in time . . . I love how simple it is.

Wednesday

I've never done a Printable before.
Loved this one.

Grabbed a great gold frame at the dollar store.

Snuck in a nice lunch with my Aunt.
This use to be Charlie Brown's and we loved it.
But they closed and now it is Moose's Tavern.
This was our first visit there.
They still have the great salad bar that Charlie Brown's had
and the sandwiches were huge.

Hubby and I will try it for dinner soon.

Thursday

Another Printable
I like the blue and green for Christmas
It's different.

I use to be a huge shopper at Fashion Bug.
But once we got a Kohl's in our area I switched.
I haven't shopped in Fashion Bug in years.
Today I stopped in because they are going out of
business and everything is on sale.

I was so fortunate to find this winter coat.
I love it.  Bright red !
I love the puffy look to the collar.
It was $90.00 and I paid $ 28.00.  WOW
I am so blessed and grateful.

Tomorrow - Friday

Going to make these cupcakes for a ladies
Christmas lunch on Saturday at my Aunt's church.

I am making the cupcakes red velvet.
I think they are so festive and pretty.

When I return to work on Monday,
praying I remember to set better
boundaries and schedule in times
of rest . . .

Mark 6:31
And he said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while.”

Psalm 127:2
It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.

Sue Dodge was great !
She sang just beautifully and was so encouraging.

I curled my super super straight hair.
It lasted about 2 hours,
Oh well it was fun while it lasted hah

Every year they decorate beautiful trees.
Each one a different theme.
Sadly my photo's don't do them justice.

Christmas Dinner Concert

So excited.
Going to the Annual America's Keswick
Christmas Dinner Concert tonight.

I have been attending this for years
and years.

It is a ladies night out for me.
I go with all my lady friends.

Hubby prefers to keep the home fire's
burning as we arrive home pretty late
and he doesn't like late nights.

He also doesn't want to be the only
man with all my single lady friends.
Poor guy - can't blame him on that one. hah

Tonight our entertainment is:

Sue Dodge

I love watching her on the Gaither's
It will be so nice to see her in person.

They also serve a delicious meal.

Great way to officially kick off
the Christmas season.

Sunday, December 9, 2012

As promised, after church, hubby
took me to Seasonal World.

Evidently it is a pool company that
fills up the place with all things Christmas
for a few weeks in December.

Got a kick out of this snow-women sporting leopard.
Girl after my own heart hah

My hubby has always wanted a Silver Bullet camper.
Think this will work?

Oh no the door just opened,  looks like it already has an owner !

After Seasonal World we headed to Walmart
Found this Salvation Army couple for my village.

Picked up this cute dress for my tree for .99 cents at
Seasonal World.  Could not beat the price.

Saw this idea on Pinterest. I just think it is
so simple yet so beautiful.
I picked up a clear glass ball at Walmart for
$1.00 - now to go steal someones pine tree hah

After shopping we picked up a
McDonalds peppermint hot cocoa !
Is was really good!

Finished up with a great meal at
Long Horns. Oh those stuffed baked potato's
are so good.

It was a really fun blessed day !

Thankful for a hubby who doesn't mind
shopping and being on the go.
