Hair cut & mittons

Finally received my Olympic mittons. hah I know better late than never. But wow it is very cold this weekend in NJ so I think they are not too late. We got a "his & her" pair. Ordered them on ebay. My poor husband. He hasn't worn his yet. hah Wonder if he will ? hah I love mine. They are very warm. We are planning to take a trip to Vancouver in Sept, Lord willing, I want to see some of the Olympic locations. I really enjoyed it this year.

This is my new hair cut. Not a great photo but you can get the idea. I wanted a bob that was layered. I haven't had layered hair in years. I was sick of the same one length doo. hah
I like it. So much quicker to dry and style.

Sunshine & Visit From Cousin

We had a beautiful weekend in NJ. It was sunshine and warmth. What a blessing after this hectic winter. My little cousin Conor came to visit.
He is so dear. He has the blondest curly hair. Just like his Mom, my cousin Jen.

Lancaster PA weekend

Rainy, windy, stormy weekend in NJ. Hubby and I had tickets to a Southern Gospel concert in Lancaster PA. We decided to go no matter what the weather held. We saw The Booth Brothers & Gold City. It was a fantastic concert. We had a blast. Lots of singing, clapping & laughing.

We shopped at the outlets in Lancaster during the day before the concert.

Here are a few photos of our weekend.

This is me in front of a Amish buggy.

This is one of the outlet stores.

One of my hubbies favorites shops - Totes

Here he is in front of Totes

But VF is his #1 favorite store at the outlets.

He does so well shopping here.

Here I am in front of my favorite store.

Cape Cod Crafts. In my brand new

Totes raincoat. ha

We are so glad we didn't let the rain deter us.

We had such a good time. I purchased a picture

as a keepsake memory of our weekend . . .

it reads . . . Life isn't about waiting for the storm

to pass... it's about learning to dance in the rain"

So appropriate . . . keep dancing . . .

Productive Days . . .oh how sweet !

Had a good productive day today. Did the laundry, picked up Easter cards, did some shopping at Kohl's got some great sales, put away winter sweaters and took out capri's and shirts, cleaned the car real good, (oh my gosh the winter snow and ice made it a mess) decorated the apartment with Spring and Easter stuff. Looks so cheerful now. Took my doggie for a walk and sat outside with him (first semi warm day made it to 50) He is now exhausted. He is so funny, sitting on the sofa trying desperately to keep his eyes open and head up. But he is losing this one. Went to Charley Brown's for dinner with my husband. Shrimp & ribs . . . so good.

A nice lady at Kohl's gave me her 30% off coupon because mine was 15%. What a blessing. Thank you Lord, I know it is your favor smiling down on me.

Productive days. . . they just make you feel so good !

Birthday

Went to NYC to a wonderful family style restaurant called Carmine's. I treated hubby for his birthday. The food is so good. Being it was family style and we are two people we have enough food for 3 more meals. hah Here's a photo of us, our waiter was kind enough to take it. Notice Gar has his eyes shut again. hah

Operations & Birthdays

My doggie Solomon had to have a tumor removed from his ear. They said I could pick him up around 6 pm at night. But when they were taking him out of his cage he shook his head, like doggie's love to do, and hit the wound against the plastic doggie collar and it bled. They thought it was best if he stayed overnight. Best for who? I wondered? Certainly not for this nervous sad Mom. :( First time he ever stayed away from home in the 12 1/2 years I've had him. WOW it was so much harder then I ever imagined. His absence was felt so boldly in our home. I was amazed at all the things I do automatically for him. Things like picking up the kitchen garbage at bedtime so he doesn't get into it. Checking his water bowl. Hearing his feet click, click across the kitchen floor when he is walking after me. Stepping out of my shower and not finding him laying on the bathroom floor waiting for me. Turning off my blow dryer and not having him wagging his tail a mile a minute because he knows after blow dryer comes OUTSIDE for him ! My gosh, I told my husband when Sollie goes to be with the Lord (I know, but in my heart I need to believe that our dear pets go to Heaven. The lion & the lamb will lie down, so why not my doggie. He can't sin right ?) Anyway what an absence it will be. He survived his operation quite well. But due to the placement of the tumor on the outside back of his ear it will be very, very difficult for it to heal. He bumps it and scratches it constantly. There is not much skin on the ear so the vet is hoping it will heal. I know the Lord is able, putting it in His hands.

On a happy note, today is my hubbies birthday !
56 years young.

Here are a few of the reasons I am blessed and love him.

1) the most patient person I know

2) loves the Lord

3) kindest person I know

4) really good to his Mom

5) generous

6) He can cook ! which is a wonderful thing
because I can't hah

7) loves to travel and painstakingly plans wonderful
trips for us

8) has a great sense of humor

9) trustworthy

10) hard worker

11) man of integrity

12) great with kids - Sunday school teacher

13) self sufficient. I never have to ask him to do anything,
he just does it

Wow I could go on and on but these are just a few !

Happy Birthday Gar - so glad to be blessed to celebrate with you !

Love you, I'd bake you a cake, but you know hah

Love of duckie and Valentines

This is my Solomon and his "baby". He loves this duck with all his heart. He got this for his first birthday and he will not play or touch any other toy but this one. Every night he takes this duck from room to room crying looking for a place to hide it. It is so cute.

This is a great Middle Eastern restaurant in NYC my hubby treated me to for Valentines. It was delicious. I had Chicken Kabob with chick peas and he had Lahambajin Pitza, they served hot fresh pita bread.

Here we are trying to get a family shot. The doggie Solomon turned out the best. hah
My hubby surprised me with pink roses, a precious moments valentine, and two stuffed animals a doggie from my Solomon and a teddy bear from him. They were for a fund raiser for Cystic Fibrosis. Our dears friends son suffers and bravely fights this disease.
It was a blessed Valentine 2010 !
