Weekend in Baltimore MD

Our weekend started with a Random Act of Kindness from a stranger. We were having breakfast in Bob Evans around Cherry Hill, NJ. A man from another table walked over and gave us a coupon for one free entry. It saved us $ 8.00 and more importantly blessed our hearts and reminded us of the kindness of people. (Gary and I have done this before in restaurants and often wondered if it made the people happy and being recipients of this deed - I can say indeed it does ! )

After breakfast we headed to St Michaels Maryland.

We stopped at the Sailwinds Visitor Center.
It is so pretty there.

I love the large sail over the center.

The view is just beautiful

Then we headed to St Michaels Maryland
A quaint little town.

How funny is this girl HAH

The fall mums were so pretty.

My hubby with a local chef ! hah

One of the local churches was having a :Faith Fest".
It was so nice. This group was really good.

Then we were driving to Baltimore to our hotel and we passed
this neat Farm. They had amazing things for kids for Harvest.
Isn't this big spider so cute?

Sweet baby goats

It was called Councell Farms.

How cool is this tractor. They made it into a huge slide.

Tons of pumpkins, gourds and all things October.

An adorable train ride

A race track and a hay maze. It was perfect for kids because
you still went through the maze but you could see out over
the hay. Not so scary as a corn maze.

Then we headed to Baltimore.
This is the football stadium where the Raven's play.

Arrived in Baltimore checked into our hotel and were
so hungry for dinner.
Hubby and I  had watched an episode of
Dinner's Drivin's and Dives and we were dying to try
this place.

It is a small Greek Diner. Oh the food!

Guy had the crab cakes and raved about them.
So I gave them a try. SO good!

Neat old fashion sort of place.
Our waitress was a real character.
She had us really laughing.

Here's a photo from Guys' visit

The next morning we walked from our hotel down to the
Inner Harbor Baltimore

After walking around the Harbor we had breakfast at Miss Shirley's Cafe.

And another place we saw this place
on Diner's Drivin's and Dives . . .

Southern Slammer Fried Green Tomato, Applewood-Smoked Bacon, Avocado, White Cheddar Cheese & Fried Egg on Pumpernickel & choice of Shredded Potato & Onion Hash Browns or Savory Grits with Diced Bacon.

Coconut Cream-Stuffed French Toast Cream Cheese, Flaked Coconut, Bruleed Bananas, Dipped in an Almond Scented Egg Mix, Garnished with Diced Strawberries & dusted with Powdered Sugar & Cinnamon

They had amazing hash browns also.

After breakfast we headed to;
The birthplace of Babe Ruth

This is so interesting, here is hubby in front
of the place he lived as a child.

1/2 of the building is turned into a modern type museum with
Babe Ruth memorabilia and 1/2 is still the old home.
This is one of the original rooms
(minus the flat screen tv of course hah)

Another room

This is a chair from Yankee Stadium back when Babe Ruth
played baseball there.  Wooden and oh it looks so
uncomfortable.  Boy are we spoiled now.

A bat used by Babe Ruth

Baseball signed by Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig.

I liked this photo of Babe Ruth

I like this quote

Yankees ! !

I can't believe what their mitts looked like hah

Go Yankees !

From the movie with John Goodman playing Babe.
Look at all the noses hah

Then we walked down to Camden Yards.
Where the Orioles play.
They have this huge statue of Babe Ruth.

Here's a close up

This is the entrance to the ballpark.

This is Cal Ripkins number.

After spending time at Babe's and the ballpark,
we headed to Aberdeen MD to visit my friend Shelly.

After our visit we headed back to Baltimore and had dinner at
our hotel.

This is our hotel Days Inn

The restaurant in our hotel.
It was good we had both breakfast and dinner there.

Because our hotel was close to the ballpark and
the Orioles and Yankees were playing the first playoff game,
it was crazy !  HAH

My goodness from our hotel 6th floors up we could hear
the cheering and someone playing what sounded like bongo's
until 12:30 AM when the game ended.

Yankees won!  We thought oh good Lord hope these
Baltimore fans don't go crazy and take it out on our
New Jersey car hah

But all was well . . .

It was a nice weekend - hubby is a great travel agent !
