"It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without
God and the Bible." George Washington
"How many observe Christ's birthday! How few, his
precepts! O! 'tis easier to keep holidays than commandments." Ben
Franklin
"In regard to this Great Book, I have but to say, it is
the best gift God has given to man. All the good the Saviour gave to the world
was communicated through this book." Abraham Lincoln
"Deeply impressed with the blessing which we enjoy, and
of which we have much manifold proofs, my mind is irresistibly drawn to that
Almighty Being, the great source from whence they proceed and whom our most
grateful acknowledgements are due." George W. Bush
It was called Birds of Paradise.
it was a piece of french toast crusted with cinnamon and almonds.
And a croissant cooked like french toasted and crusted the same.
Covered in fresh fruit. Really delicious.
Then we decided to hit our local mall.
Monmouth
Mall, New Jersey's
fifth largest shopping center,
is 1.5 million square feet.
Now these are the stores I visited . . .
Love this scent . . .
Another favorite store . . .
It was "all things" Brave today . . .
And my final store . . . I could browse for hours . . .
Now notice my husbands choices below:
He is a department store man ! hah
He shopped at all four of these stores and came back to find me
and I was still in my first store - Bath and Body Works hah
He is one fast shopper. . .
For dinner we are going to Mom's Kitchen.
It is a family owned Italian restaurant in business since: 1945.
My husband who grew up in the Bronx, NY remembers coming down
to the Jersey Shore as a child and eating at Mom's kitchen
with his entire family. It has fond memories for him.
He took me there on our second date so it has special memories for us too.
The food is really good, old fashioned home cooked Italian food.
<>
But you can always count on the food to be so good.
This is what I ordered.
It is macaroni with meatballs.
Gary always gets his favorite.
Baked macaroni.
It has melted mozzarella and
ricotta inside.

Nothing fancy just a old fashion home style place.
This is what I ordered.
It is macaroni with meatballs.
Gary always gets his favorite.
Baked macaroni.
It has melted mozzarella and
ricotta inside.
Here's a little history of Mom's Sam Aldarelli makes the first tomato pie in Asbury Park, NJ Nicky's great uncle made his first tomato pie on Ridge Avenue in Asbury Park in the early 1920's. Sam, a baker at the time was the first to create the "tomato pie" on the Jersey Shore. The response was so great, Sam decided to give up being a baker and sell pizzas out of a restaurant named after his wife Freda. The Tradition Continues In 1945 Nicky's grandfather Papa Nick and his wife Letizia bought The Market Tavern on 5th Ave in Neptune and renamed it Mom's Kitchen. Today Nicky and Dolly carry on the Aldarelli tradition of fine Italian cooking at Mom's.
On our way home we drove past the ocean.
It was so nice to see these back in Asbury Park.
They always had the paddle boats when I was a child.
But when Asbury Park hit hard financial times and the
city almost died they were gone.
Now that Asbury Park is making a financial
comeback they have returned !
This is the sea wall. When we've had a few Nor-Easter's the ocean waves can come over the top of the wall. It is something to see.
Hope your 4th of July was as enjoyable as ours . . .
